The manufacturer claims are correct, with this item taking to assemble in 10 min as well as being sturdy. What I found in two packages, as I returned the first one, is poor quality control. The paint is not applied evenly throughout the pieces. The edges of pieces are missing paint on some pieces and in the slots on each piece the milling is rough (surface roughness, and the paint is not applied evenly). I would have expected that the paint is evenly applied across each piece, to grant it 4 or 5 stars. Basically it looks like you just bought a used piece of furniture that was kept in good condition rather than what new furniture should look like.Another aspect is that if you have hardwood floors there is nothing at the bottom of the piece that will prevent the bookcase from scratching the floor.
